A Soldier Died

He was getting old and paunchy Of a war that he once fought in And 'tho sometimes, to his neighbors But we'll hear his tales no longer He will not be mourned by many, He held a job and raised a family, When politicians leave this earth, Papers tell of their life stories, Is the greatest contribution Or the ordinary fellow who, |
The politician's stipend While the ordinary Soldier, It's so easy to forget them, It is not the politicians Should you find yourself in danger, Or would you want a Soldier-- He was just a common Soldier, For when countries are in conflict, If we cannot do him honor Perhaps just a simply headline |
