"I know the event was this summer… I believe July as I was sent the messages on July 16, 2004. He said it was a recent event. She was not under the United States Navy as she was sold to the Hellenic Navy at some point in the past. SINKEX is actually a USN term for a "Sinking Exercise". Rather than sell decommissioned ships to a salvage yard they take them out and sink them using missiles and/or torpedoes." (Rick Bennett)
