Veterans Day Gathering – 2004

Bloomington, Minnesota

USFlag.thin

Gentlemen and Ladies,

It’s official: The headquarters hotel for the Veterans Day Mini-Reunion of the Mobile Riverine Force Association (MRFA) and the 9th Infantry Division Society (9IDS) is the Ramada Inn Airport and Thunderbird Convention Center, 2201 East 78th Street, Bloomington, MN 55425. It is conveniently located just off I-494 at the 24th Ave. exit; mapquest.com has an excellent map if you’re driving here. (The Ramada is on the opposite side of Mall of America from Days Inn where the reunion has been in years past.)

The “Official” check-in is Friday 11/12 through Sunday 11/14 check-out. We have a $69.00 per day (up to 4 people in a room) rate. We also have a hospitality room that is FREE if we book 15 rooms or $69.00 per day if we’re under that. The rooms are set aside under both the MRFA and 9th Infantry Division Society. To make a reservation, call 952-854-3411 between 8am-5pm Central Daylight Time Monday-Friday. (That’s 9am-6pm EDT; 7am-4pm MDT; 6am-3pm PDT; and 11:47pm in New Jersey) I think they’ll also let our people come a day or two early or stay a day or two later at the same rate.

IMPORTANT: If anyone tries to book on-line or through Ramada’s 800 #, they WON’T get the $69 rate.

One option the Ramada offers is a Group Dinner, if we’re interested. I declined for now since we haven’t done that in the past. But if enough of you want to have a group meal on Saturday evening 11/13, I’ll be glad to start working on making that happen. There are also Tour Bus possibilities if enough people would be interested in a motor coach tour of the Twin Cities; I’d make sure it would include the MN Viet Nam Veterans Memorial on the State Capitol grounds in St. Paul. Please let me know if either of these possibilities piques your fancy!

SPECIAL BONUS EVENT: MRFA member Bob Snitgen (A-2) has made arrangements to bring a LIVE EAGLE to our Memorial Service at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery on Saturday, 11/13 at 1 pm. Bob works/volunteers at an eagle sanctuary south of the Twin Cities along the Mississippi River. Mike Clark and the great Honor Guard from the Anoka VVA group will be there again this year as well.

Looking forward to seeing you here!!! If you have any questions please contact me.
